Another week another strained hammy in Cubs’ camp, and just like last week when it was Ian Happ, the news is bad for Nick Madrigal for the same reason. He pulled it too early. Guys, save this shit for the final days of Spring Training when we can then enjoy a few weeks of real games without you.

Madrigal’s latest injury started out as a “cramp” and then when the Cubs finally got around to giving him an MRI (Tom Ricketts has a punch card for them but is still stingy about using it), they found a real injury.

It’s not as funny as last year when he bumped into the railing down the third base line in Milwaukee and somehow missed a month.

I mean, he “hit” the railing at a good four miles per hour. And, he hit his little peener more than his hammy. But his papier mache ligaments can’t stand any amount of stress. That’s why it was such a good idea for him to try to bulk up to turn his 250 foot flyballs to left into 270 foot ones.
